It's the eve of my departure from Spain! I actually cannot believe it! I'm so excited to go home, but a pre-uni visit is definitely on the cards.
The weather is so hot, too hot, considering we are nowhere near any sort of water source...there is no way I could survive here during the summer months!
So my Dad is on his way here, with another case (thank God) hard to believe I've accumulated so much stuff, and so much has gone in the bin anyway! So it'll be dinner, a re-shuffle to spread the weight in my cases and then one more sleep til I'm back in then UK! Everyone thinks I'm crazy for wanting to go home, trust me....had I been placed in Malaga there's no chance I'd be getting on a plane tomorrow!
I'd rather be back having fun in the cold than be bored in the heat!

Gossip Girl.
Well, well, well. What can I say. That show never fails to impress. We were quite literally on the edge of our seats!! I have no idea how I'm going to manage waiting for season4...probably by watching seasons1-3 again! What as great way to round off Plasencia TV times!!!

Summer Lunchin'
My Mum introduced me to this place right at the end of last summer!
Better late than never I suppose! I hope many a sunny afternoon will be spent there this year!
Current Obsessions
My roommate Christina has introduced me to this lovely site. Consequently, she also showed me how to link sites that way. For a 21year old, I'm really quite technologically challenged! I'm currently looking past my final year in Uni, to the summer of 2011....it will take me to LA, promise!
Personal Favourite.
Sacrificing English
So over a delicious lunch of yellow and brown foods, Christina and I had the daily American vs British English conversation! It went as follows....
Leah: Hmm I've noticed how you say houses (hausez)
Christina: Why, how do you say it?
Leah: Houses (howsez)
Christina: But..mouse, you don't say mouses (mowsez)
**genuine look of triumph**
Leah: Err, Christina....it's mice.
Christina: Oh shit
Definitely a win for the British by default!

New Beginnings.
Decided that this will be my main blog...'Converting To Spanish'...soon to be retired!
'Long Hot Days Of Summer'...purely for summer gossip and the happenings of LB, HB and LJ..Manchester and Mold.
I couldn't bring myself to delete it...there is some pure gold in there!

Alexa Chung

You may not think it to look at me, but I have recently chosen this lady to (loosely) base my look on. I won't call her my style icon because I can't afford to have a style icon, but she's definitely the one girl I'd love to dress like. From looking at photos of her recently, I've realised I already have some similar pieces to Miss Chung...I just need to learn how to wear them so they don't look like I slept in them the night before!

Benny and Joon

I recently watched this film because my housemate told me that she'd had a dream where we'd fought. Apparently, to cheer her up, I performed the magic tricks that Johnny Depp does in the park...as Sam in Benny and Joon. It's one of those films....it's just nice.
Potentially, there are a lot of films I'm going to miss out on/have to watch on my own in some rural cinema in Spain in the coming months! This is not something I'm looking forward to, and I'm just hoping I don't just give in and watch some brilliant films online...that would be awful!

Okay..
...so automatically condensing my blogs is a no-no. So my next few posts are going to be my favourite old posts from other blogs. I love a good cyber-clearout!
It's almost that time again!
Yes, time to get the summer blog up and running again!! I sincerely hope that this years will be classier that lasts. But lets face it, with the absence of MJ, a classy summer is a given.
27days and counting til I'm back on British soil and June is already full of plans! I'm very sad to be missing AD's fake birthday...I'm sure it'll be a good one but, I'm absolutely loving the fact that the next time we'll all be together is sitting in the Gallery, sipping champagne with Carrie Bradshaw! :) Good times ahead!
I'd really love to condense this, and my other two blogs into one. But I'd have absolutely no idea how to go about that. Although it's not like I haven't got the time to figure it out.
So, yesterday was election day. I couldn't vote due to postal complications which I'm pretty miffed about...and so I'm still a voting virgin! Now we're stuck with a Hung Parliament. I think it's all a load of bollocks to be honest and the system needs to be re-thought. Don't get me wrong, I have next to no political knowledge, but even I can see that this isn't the best way to do things. If Labour stays in, I feel most people will feel cheated. I don't really know how Brown could comfortably carry on, knowing that the majority of the population don't want him in office anyway. But then again, we are talking about politicians here. They don't function like normal human beings, do they?!
In other news, I think I've decided that I'd quite like to move to the US as soon as possible! Preferably LA. I think we all know why! :)
But yes, serious blog reconstruction is needed.

The End Is Nigh!
Less than 6weeks left. That can't be right..can it?
At times I have felt like my time here was never going to end, but now I'm afraid to blink incase I miss something.
I am totally in two minds about how I feel about my time here.
I love being in Spain..although my Spanish is truly horrible. I plan to make amends.
Everyone I work with is great. But there is something, and I can't quite put my finger on what it is, that will always mean I'll look back on this year and think I made the wrong choice.
This was not what I needed.
I have spent the last 7months complaining and there is nothing helpful about that.
I have such high aspirations but no idea how to achieve any of the things that I want.
Overall, I've made some great friends who have made my time here infinitely more bearable, but I am most definitely ready to go home and live by my own terms.

British roots...
Living with two Americans in Spain, it could've been easy for me to forget how to behave like a proper Brit. Thankfully, an English textbook has provided me with the 'rules of behaviour in Britain'. Now, I'll never forget.
Ehem, I beg to differ!
- When you meet someone for the first time, you should shake hands and say How do you do? If you know the person well, you can kiss them on the cheek, but only once not twice. Boys and men don't usually kiss or hug eachother.
- You mustn't stand too close to people when you're chatting. If you do, people will move away from you. But don't worry, it's not because you smell. (I have to give them this one!)
- You shouldn't make a lot of noise with your friends in public. People will stare angrily at you. And children musn't scream and run around, especially not in restaurants.
- The British hide their emotions so don't cry or laugh loudly in public. If you win the lottery, you should say Oh, that's great!(wtf?!) And if your girlfriend or boyfriend leaves you, say Nevermind, there are lots more fish in the sea! The, go home and cry.
- The three most important expressions in English are please, thank you and sorry. To be polite you have to use them all the time. And if you don't agree with someone, you mustn't say I don't agree- say Yes, that's very interesting.
Ehem, I beg to differ!

The To-Do List..
...I can only imagine how many people have been inspired to create their own 'T0-Do List' after reading Mike Gayle's book, but I am most definitely going to be one of them!
Mine is a more general 'Things To Do Before I'm 30' list, which lets be honest is pretty scary in itself, only 9years to go!
There are currently 14 things on the list, I sincerely hope that I don't get anywhere near Gayle's 1,277 things to do, but I'll give it a go!

Love
Just put me in the car
And drive so far
Until I'm free again
And whisper in my ear
That all these years
I've been dreaming
Then you kiss me goodnight
And it'll be alright
It'll be alright
It'll be alright
It'll be all that I have ever asked of you

See, this is why we don't go out...
...seems we got hit with the good-looking stick before we left the flat last night!
Copious amounts of unwanted attention and touching.
Two words, fuck off.

Remember, there's only 4 more months
She's driving me crazy...
actually no, she drove me crazy a while ago. Now she's just constantly keeping me in this state of crazy.

- Cups in the bathroom
- Turning off my light
- Honey left in cups
- Using every possible untensil
- Moving things around in my cupboard
- "I'm right, you're wrong"
- Baguette hater
- Wearing all clothing at one time
- Hints and blatent criticisms
- Chewing
- Using long, complex words in general conversation when totally unecessary
- Making me feel like I'm looked down upon
- My way isn't good enough
- Judgemental
- Rude
